A real classic among hand injuries - a broken finger. The causes are manifold: jammed in the door, a collision in sports or even a car accident.
In the video, we explain which finger joints are often affected by which injuries, how the symptoms of a fracture manifest themselves and how it is reliably diagnosed. We also look at the treatment options: if the fracture pieces fit together, a splint may be sufficient; if the fracture is displaced or even open, surgery may be necessary.
In the follow-up treatment, the rule is: immobilise as much as necessary and as little as possible. This way the bone can heal in peace without the other fingers stiffening in the meantime.
