LIME's history began on 10 October 2016 with its foundation in Bad Kreuznach. Four years later, Mainz's Neubrunnenplatz is our Head Quarter, which is slowly becoming almost too small again.
Last week, the Hand Congress of the German Working Group for Hand Therapy (DAHTH) and the German Society for Hand Surgery (DGH) took place in Münster. The presentation of AnyHand there was different from previous fairs: The Hand Congress was the first trade fair where we could refer to the CE certification of the AnyHand.
The CE was certainly the biggest success in this, LIME's fourth year. But it had even more to offer: Just under a year ago, we were awarded a special prize in the Pioneer Spirit Competition by the ISB and the Technical University of Kaiserslautern. In January, we shot our first professional image film and in the past few weeks, the first AnyHand tests took place, where hand patients were able to receive their first therapies on a trial basis.
So much for LIME's milestones as a start-up. What do the team members think?
For Timos, the LIME highlight of the year is our big team addition: since the middle of the year, Fabian has been supporting us in Service and Andi in Business Development and will both be doing their Bachelor's theses with us. Mathias joined us in the summer as a Data Scientist and is developing additions to AnyHand that can be integrated into the app. And finally, Désirée moved from working student to employee. At this point to our new LIME members*: We are very happy that you share our mission!
If you ask Dominic, the CE is clearly the focus for him as well: "We simply worked towards this from day one. Then when we had the certificate in our hands in May - that was really a great moment!" Andi's biggest highlight was two crucial mouse clicks: he recently sent off the extensive applications for the German Accelerator and the European Innovation Council (EIC) Accelerator, which he had spent many weeks polishing. The EIC promotes innovative start-ups in the EU and the German Accelerator supports German start-ups entering the US market.
For Désirée, a key success story happened just a few days ago: we wanted to update the stand for the Hand Congress in Münster and made a new print for the illuminated wall. Since the CE now allows therapy on patients' hands, it absolutely had to be a photo of the AnyHand with the hand inserted. "Being able to present the AnyHand in action on two by two metres makes the project much more real.
You can see: we are motivated for the challenges of the coming months! On the occasion of our 4th anniversary, we would also like to thank our many supporters - committed people in hand therapy and surgery, partners in various fields and of course our friends and families!
