Daniel Sieg is helping to shape the future of hand therapy with his bachelor's thesis at LIME. In the interview, he talks about the dynamics of the start-up and what's next for him professionally.
In 2018, Daniel was nearing the end of his B.Sc. in Physical Engineering at RheinMain University of Applied Sciences and was looking for a company where he could tackle the final step towards graduation, his Bachelor's thesis. His focus is on development in medical technology, so Daniel looked around on the homepage of the University Hospital in Mainz . There he came across LIME. "Before you apply somewhere, you look at yourself: Who are the bosses? What's behind them? And with such a young start-up, where the founders are younger than me, these questions were not without merit. I just applied and when I was on site, I immediately realised that there was a lot of knowledge and competence to write my bachelor's thesis here."
Daniel was immediately challenged at the interview: "That was

and then the founders and I brainstormed together." This special

The fact that there are no graduate engineers on site to supervise the work
was not a problem. The university provided Daniel with two professors

motivated Daniel in particular: "The fact that I can really help people is an important aspect for me.

Daniel gained his expertise in hand therapy by interviewing occupational therapists, among others. This input from practice, e.g. from Anette Philipp , makes it possible to find a custom-fit solution for everyday therapy.
Daniel also recently found out the grades of his Bachelor's thesis.
