On 11 October 2018, LIME participated in the joint congress of the German Working Group for Hand Therapy(DAHTH ) and the German Society for Hand Surgery(DGH ). Lectures and workshops were held at the Congress Center Mannheim on topics including endoprosthetics, microsurgery and nerve reconstruction. In addition, the latest surgical methods in hand surgery were presented - it is amazing how even severe injuries can be treated in the delicate surgical field of the hand with new technical and methodological ideas.
Again and again, it becomes clear how closely surgery and therapy are intertwined. The success of an operation also depends to a large extent on the follow-up care. Movement therapy in particular is essential to prevent newly operated hands from stiffening. The DAHTH and DGH Congresses offer an important platform for the exchange of ideas between the various disciplines. This networking and interaction helps to ensure that innovations reach patients at every stage of treatment, enabling them to achieve the best possible outcome.
Personally, we were very happy to meet familiar faces again and to make new contacts with surgeons, occupational therapists and physiotherapists. Daniela Neye, who can be seen in the photo with Pascal Lindemann, is a physiotherapist specialising in hand therapy. She was able to give us valuable tips for the further development of our AnyHand with her experience from her practice in Berlin - many thanks for that!
