In recent weeks, the Mainz-based medical technology start-up LIME medical GmbH negotiated its first international deal: the American partner Team Post Op is acquiring 10 of the hand therapy devices AnyHand.
After the first therapy devices are already running successfully in German hand therapy practices, the market entry in the USA is to start. From Florida, the overseas partner will set up sales in the states of Florida and Georgia in order to place the AnyHand piece by piece in the American market. Next week, two AnyHands will start their journey to the USA. Possible minor adjustments to the local market can then be implemented in Mainz and the remaining eight devices delivered within the next few months.
Review
In November 2020, the LIME team was accepted into the German Accelerator. The funding programme supports promising German start-ups entering the US market. From November 2020 onwards, experienced mentors accompanied the networking on site.
In August last year, a decisive step was taken on the way to the deal: Pascal Lindemann, founder and CEO of LIME, travelled to Florida to meet the new partner and his team on site. A first AnyHand had already been sent on the trip beforehand so that Team Post Op could get an impression.
Lindemann thinks back to the meeting last summer: "The personal exchange on site was very valuable to get to know each other well and to clarify all the key points. We had quite a few appointments in the short week on site - I am happy how well everything worked out and very much look forward to future cooperation!"
LIME had already initiated conformity with the requirements of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) at an early stage, so that patients in the USA can also benefit from AnyHand at an early stage.
LIME medical GmbH
LIME was founded in 2016 by Pascal Lindemann and Dominic Libanio. The medical technology start-up from Mainz uses pioneering technology to create additional therapy time for hand patients. The first product, AnyHand, performs movement therapy for the hands. Patients receive more therapy and therapists are relieved.

Team Post Op was founded in 2007 by Ed Marti, is based in Sunrise, a Florida town a good hour's drive from Miami, and is a major supplier of various therapy devices. Founder Ed has already invented several therapy products himself and has excellent connections with the most important US surgeons.
